Cylinder measuring made easy

First A, then B

All DOM mechanical cylinders can be adapted in length to the different door thicknesses.

  • The standard length of a locking cylinder is 60 mm (30/30 mm), depending on the system.
  • Extensions are possible in steps of 5 mm.
  • There is no length limit.

With the modular system, the cylinder body is not made up of one piece, but instead of two halves that are connected to each other with a steel bar. The modular design allows a subsequent extension of the cylinder without having to buy a new lock cylinder.

Measuring the cylinder

The length of the cylinder is dependent on the door leaf thickness and the thickness of the security protection hardware. Generally, the cylinder should not protrude by more than 3mm, for compliance with DIN 18252. The cylinder length is calculated from the faceplate screw to the outside (this is labelled with an "A") and the inside (this is labelled with a "B"), in both cases to the outside of the fitting.

The best option is to have the cylinder measured by a retailer on site.
